We Know Why

UGANDA

Uganda is home to one of the most lush and diverse ecosystems on the planet. Known as The Pearl of Africa, it is a tropical paradise of pawpaw and mango trees, pineapple and maize fields bisected by red dirt roads lined with women selling their carefully merchandised, modest harvests.

These resourceful Ugandan women, with school age children and goats in tow, smile and wave to every vehicle that passes. Most are filled with tourists who wave back while snapping photos as mementos on the way to their ultimate destination. For the 1000s of visitors passing through, it is less about flora and more about the fauna – the famed mountain gorillas.

THE SMALLEST OF PLACES CAN MAKE THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE

In our Ugandan community, local experts, entrepreneurs, and educators are collaborating with global thought leaders to redefine what’s possible for rural agricultural societies. Our community looks much like the rest of the country – and the world – with lots of opportunities, though not without its challenges.
